The second edition of the International Exhibition of Contemporary Illustration (aka MiiC) focuses on three main concepts: the visual use of the colour, the subjective representation of nature and the feminine universe. This exhibition brings Santiago de Compostela closer to the state of the arts of the world's illustration avant-garde for the second year in a row.

Nineteen illustrated projects, 16 individual and 3 collective ones structure this new edition that focuses on more personal creations of the artists, emphasizing the artistic value that illustration has as a means of expression for many contemporary creators. Nowadays, this fact turns illustration into one of the freer and more imaginative communication branches. Furthermore, it is an area that admits a wide variety of thechniques and it is in continuous evolution. Serigraphs, collages, ceramics, video clips, risographs, digital creations, sculptures or conceptual installations are just some of the formats that can be found in the exhibition and that show clearly a high degree of creativity, experimentation and dynamism that the art of contemporary illustration embraces. It is an illustrated anthology that approaches us as well to what is being done in Galicia, where we found a magnificent generation of artists that create trends inside and outside our borders.

Over 200 works assemble the journey of this exhibition that has its common thread in drawing and the use of colour. This edition emphasizes a representation of the world that surrounds us in illustrations in wich, in a more or less evident fashion, underline a critique of the contemporary society.
